Carvings like this are along almost every wall on all the temples... they depict images of battles, kings and their concubines, purgatory and hell, various punishments and achievements and whatever else the king whom the temple was for deemed worthy. Many carvings went unfinished as the king died before the completion of the temple and the next king would have the workers start a new temple to honor himself.
