THIS is what it's about...

Years of arranging contracts, building and shipping materials, testing and revising equipment, installing systems, analyzing details, rehearsing choreography, international meetings at ungodly hours, revision after revision of every set piece and costume item and lighting design... why do we do it? why the endless hours trying to build consensus with consultants across the country; why the fourteen hour days that leave a fifteen hour day ahead; why put such a tremendous amount of energy and exorbitant amounts of money into overcoming intangible themes and creative differences? it's just a theme park... it's just a ride... it's just a show...

it's sitting in the back of an audience, looking at silhouettes of expectations. it's frantically fighting the opening curtain to perfect what you dreamt when you first read the script. it's every time the melody exploded in your memory and every memory it, in turn, brought back. it's the relief that washes over you as the crowd loosens into laughter and sinks into songs. it's the air you walk on as they walk out never knowing who you are or what you did. it's knowing there's nothing else in the world you'd rather be involved in creating than other people's happiness...
it's showbiz, baby.
